    Re: Kernel message

The lack of a title bar or other explanation is odd. Does the message seem to be popping up from a particular item on the System Tray (AKA Notification Area)? Does it fit the pattern of any other program?

    Re: Kernel message

It does not sem to be from any specific part of the system tray nor can I tie it to a specific program. Also it does not seem to be affecting any functioning.
I did a google on this alert and did not find anything.
    Thanks

    Re: Kernel message

    I just found these 2 links http://www.computing.net/security/ww...rum/16094.html and http://forums.sygate.com/vb/showthre...threadid=14566
I am not sure what this means though, and if it affects my ability to use network neighborhood.

I haven't used Sygate, so I can't help with those details. Maybe rename your original post to attract more Sygate users. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    Sygate - Kernel message

Edited by Hansv to remove superfluous white space from image.

Can anyone please tell me what this message is and what is sending it? My firewall is Sygate PF, but I do not think it is from that
    Thanks

    Re: Sygate - Kernel message

I've been asked by another user to explain my words in the previous post. In November 2005, in <post:=537,713>post 537,713</post:> from Joe Perez, he pointed out the demise of the Sygate Personal Firewall product. Since that time, if you try to reach the former Sygate web site you will receive a page not found error. If I'm not mistaken Symantec is providing no support for the product so lots of people decided to switch to a product that IS being kept up to date and supported.

    Re: Sygate - Kernel message

I agree, but I think I will wait till if and when Vista comes out and the whole eccosystem of security prodicts will change before investing in these programs. Till then I will get along woth either SPF or ZA freeware
    Thanks

    I use the <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> version from ZomeAlarm, so give it a try <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
