    Blocked Files (Office2003)

I have a friend in a remote location who is running XP Home Edition and Office 2003. He advises that he can not receive or send Access mdb files. Outlook is blocking sending or receiving. Is there a setting that can unblock the mdb files?

See the registry setting explained at Slipstick. Or you can get Ken Slovak's Attachment Options add-in.

John has already provided an excellent reply, but I wouldn't recommend unblocking .mdb files. Access databases are much too large to send uncompressed, so you (or your friend) should always zip them and send the zip file. Windows XP has built-in zip capability, and .zip files are not blocked.

Thanks Hans. We normally send all files zipped but this new location was having a problem with their zip program and I was looking for a quick work around until the zip problem could be solved.
