    Keyboard Blues

    Hi

I've been using a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard (Elite) with the software provided (Intellitype Pro 5.2) for ages now and had no problems.
Yesterday I had a new computer box and our IT put my existing hard drive into it.
Now when I boot up, I am prompted for Ctrl-Alt-Del in the normal event but there is nothing from my keyboard.

I have to plug in a normal keyboard to boot up.
At the moment I have an ordinary ps2 keyboard plugged continuosly sitting under my desk and the wireless one which I am typing with now.
This is the only strange way I can get the wireless keyboard to work.
With the one sitting under the desk out of site and plugged in, when I boot, the wireless works fine.

Any help would be appreciated here, obviously I re-installed the sotware which was bundled with the keyboard and mouse.

If the Wireless Keyboard connects to a USB connector then have a look in your BIOS setups for something called Legacy USB support or similar and try enabling it.

Does the wireless keyboard work correctly when you are running just the BIOS? If not then there is very likely to be a setting somewhere that will enable it.
