Shortcut for 'New Item' (MSO 2003)

Is there a way to put a shortcut for a new (appointment, task, note, email, contact) on the desktop so that d-clicking will open the new item?

    Regards,

See Microsoft Office Assistance: Command-line switches. For example, to create a new apppointment, create a shortcut with target

    "C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice11Outlook.exe" /c ipm.appointment

The Microsoft article lists the argument needed for other types of items.
