    Today Page (MSO 2003)

I know you can have Outlook default to open on the Today page, but is there some way to set up 'something' to only have it happen once (timed perhaps?)?

What do you mean by "happen once"?

    Hans:

It would be great if when I first log in (in the morning) and go into Outlook, the "Today" page would come up so that I could see the day's items...

From then on, I would rather go to the Inbox.

    Regards,
    Chuck

I wouldn't know how to do that (and I don't think it's worth the trouble), but perhaps someone else has a suggestion.

    Hans:

The issue (for me) here isn't necessarily the changing the color by number manipulations, but the "why" it's happening. 'Cause I *can't* change the colors via the numbers, and I know you're supposed to be able to do so.

So, something is wrong. And historically, with Windows, where there's smoke, there is usually fire.

Doesn't this reply belong in your other current thread?

I wouldn't think color dialog issues would be part of the opening folder for Outlook. You think so?

I'm totally confused. Why did you post a reply about editing colors (<post:=590,451>post 590,451</post:>) in a thread about Outlook today?

I'm so sorry... I've got the two going, as you know, and I got screwed up...

    Sorry...

    Re: Today Page (MSO 2003)

Does this mean you are closing Outlook rather than keeping it running during the day?

If you can create command line switches to set the folder you want to open up with (<post:=588,212>post 588,212</post:>, <post:=583,119>post 583,119</post:>), could you create shortcuts to them that are set by a scheduled batch file (<post:=585,069>post 585,069</post:>) - i.e. your first shortcut runs a batch file that opens up Outlook with Today, then replaces itself with a shortcut to open Outlook with the Inbox, then at midnight a scheduled event runs a batch file to replace your Outlook_Inbox shortcut with the Outlook_Today one.

    Or something.

(I think I would find it easier just to open with Outlook Today and then click on the folder I want to see each time...)

    Leif:

Yea, it's probably easier to just "not worry about it"... too bad. You know, this would be a piece of cake if you could open multiple instances of outlook without losing add-in functionality...

    Oh well...

    Re: Today Page (MSO 2003)

    Chuck,

I honestly don't understand what your motivation is for this series of questions about starting Outlook in various modes. Switching between mail, calendar etc. takes only 1 (one) mouse click, or if you prefer the keyboard, 1 (one) keystroke (Ctrl+1 = mail, Ctrl+2 = calendar, Ctrl+3 = contacts, etc.). What could be easier than that?

You're right. I'm sorry for the clutter.
