    Check box (Word 2003)

A co-worker sent me a document he created that has check boxes form fields.

When I view the document in print preview, I see the check boxes themselves but when I view it in normal or print view, I see the formula: {FORMCHECKBOX).

I would like to convert the normal view from the formula to the actual check box. Control + F9 is not converting it. Is there a another way?

    Thanks,
    Susan

    Select Tools | Options...
    Activate the Print tab.
Clear the "Field Codes" check box in the Include section.
    Click OK.
You should now see the check boxes in print preview and on the printed output.
Note: this is an application-wide setting, not a document-level setting.

    Thanks Hans.

Actually the Field Codes check box was not toggled under the Print tab. But your answer lead me to look around Options and I found Field Codes toggled under Show in the View tab. I untoggled that and it cured the problem! Many thanks as always.

Oops, sorry, I misread your post. Glad you found the correct solution.
