    Report Calculations (2000/SR1)

I need to calculate the difference of Grades from year 2000 and year 2001. Each row in the table has a grade (numeric value) and date for each year. My report currently is set to group on the school and grade year. Ultimately I need to show number of students who's grade increased, decreased and stayed the same. I can't figure out how to show the result of the processing in the report. Thanks in advance guys, you always come through for me.

How about a crosstab query with each row being a student and the columns headings are the years?

Use the crosstab query as input to another query. Then you merely have to add a calculated field that subtracts one from the other.

Mark your ideal was perfect. I just had to visualize what you were saying. After I set up two the queries I was able to use the method Charlotte advised, creating an expression using the ABS function to isolate the increase, decrease, same criteria for the reports. Thanks again for your expertise.
