    Field length (Access 2000)

How can I use the length of a field as a criterion in a query?

I assume that you mean the length of the value of the field. You can use the Len function for this. For example, add a calculated column

    L: Len([MyField])

to the query grid and set the criteria for this column to >10. If you don't want to see the column in datasheet view, clear the Show check box for this column.

Thanks ... that's what I thought but it wasn't working. I'll try again.

If you can't get it to work, post back with more details.

I missed the >10 criterion; that fixed it, thanks.
