    Summary report (Access 2000)

Could you help me please ? I need to make a report entitled " Liters per month during the years 2002 - 2006 and i meet with big difficulties.I have a report copied from the Microsoft Nortwind but it is for liters per Quarter and the background is not the same.It does not compare the months for each year.Actually my report should look like that :

Liters per month during th years 2002 - 2006

    month 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006
    january 10 11 14 16 20
    February 23 34 15 17 30
    March.........

I am sending the report i have for the Quarters and also the basic query.I am not sure shall i begin from the query or the report ?I will be grateful for any advice

You can use a crosstab query for this. See the attached version.

    Dear Hans,

Thank you ! Your proposal solves the problem. Now i get the report exactly in the way i wanted.i want once again to thank you for all that.Is there any way to show in the report the names of the months instead of their numbers ? Not that it is so important, everybody will now that 1 means January i am just asking out of curiosity and perhaps it will have a better design then

    Dear Hans,
How could i divide the total sum to 1000 in order to receive tons instead of kilograms?

See the attached version. I created a table tblMonth containing the names of the months, then renamed the crosstab query and created a new query QueryBas based on the crosstab query and on tblMonths.

Simply use liters/1000 in the crosstab query.
