    Countif with two criteria (2003)

    Lounger's

I have months (formatted to August, September, etc) in column A and in column B numbers (like 1.1, 1.2,1.3) with link to a vlookup in column c.

I want to count the numbers of occurrences of the number of, for example - 1.1's in August, etc

    Any thoughts?

    How about something like:
    =SUMPRODUCT((MONTH(A1:A100)=8)*(B1:B100=1.1))

    Change the range as desired...

    Thanks Steve,

Sorry for the delay in replying, but I've been away.

I assume that if I want to add a third criteria I just add another *(c1:c100=??) and so on

Yes, that's correct. You can add as many conditions as you want using multiplication, but of course more conditions mean slower calculation.
