    98SE Log On

I have a single user "me" Laptop, a computer shop changed the Hard Drive and had to reinstall 98SE. Now at boot up
I get the Welcome to windows screen and the word Administrator on the first line and the password blank. you can
hit cancel and go on in. The repairman told me to go to Network and change a setting to welcome to windows, this
did not help ?? I was then told to delete the word adminstrator and press enter, it came back you forgot to put in the
word administrator. and cancel would not work until I did ???

What happens if you leave the word Administrator there and leave the password blank and then hit enter?

    Re: 98SE Log On

Joe, thanks for the input, I did delete the Administ.pwl file, but after re-booting, it made a new administ.pwl file.
I tried the suggestion and picked OK rather than the cancel and the next time it did not ask for the PW... ?
I did not leave the PW blank, it defaults to Administrator. I left the word Administrator, left the PW section
blank and pressed OK. So far so good, 16:01, 08/14/2006
