    Track Changes (MS WORD 2000)

I have a document sent to me by another person. However, I do not seem to invoke the Track Changes option ( the relevant box is greyed out). File attached. Request help from the experts.

Check the Tools menu. Does it contain an item "Unprotect document"? If so, the document has been protected for tracked changes. See if you can unprotect it - if you're prompted for a password, you're out of luck, but you should still be able to copy the text to a new document.

    Hans,
Thanks for your response. Yes the document is password protected, however, as suggested by you I can copy the contents into another file and edit it with "track changes" enabled.
