    update KB921398 (windows XP home)

Everytime I try to install security update KB921398 for windows XP, I get the message that 'windows explorer has encountered a problem and has to close'.
any clues about why this happens and how I can resolve it? I want to ensure I am not leaving my system vulnerable.

    Download the update from
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en
save it to your hard drive and install it from there.
Do not forget to close all your running programs, including Internet Explorer, before installation.

    Updated:
To troubleshoot your installation problem, please open Event Viewer (click Start | Run, type EVENTVWR and hit Enter), navigate to the event with an error (under System or Application), double-click it and post the event description.
