    Presenter View (PowerPoint 2003)

I tried to set up my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A25) to run presenter view. When I turned on multiple monitor support the laptop screen went blank. The projector is showing only the background wallpaper. How can I get my laptop monitor to come back on?

HOW did you turn on multiple monitor support.

On my laptop I access Display Properties | Settings | Click on Monitor 2 | Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor
Then clicking the Identify button confirms that the projector is screen 2

Concur with your question Stuart !

However, sounds like a possible projector/notebook setup issue. Sometimes when using an InFocus X2 projector with my Dell Notebook, the notebook screen blanks out. Press and hold <Ctrl> key, then press and release <F5> key.

This toggles the notebook screen on and off on my machine. Might help ditchdoctor915's problem if the problem is what I think it might be.
