    superscript in cells (excel 03' sp2)

    Does anyone know how to apply a note number to formatted cells without adversely affecting the cell contents used in a formula calculation...i.e a cell such as A5 with the contents/number 35,236 with superscript of ^3, (designating note 3) changes the results of the function or formula.

    That's not possible. You could enter the note designator in a narrow column to the right of the cell.

    Format cells
    Number (tab)
    Custom
    Enter the format desired (eg #,##0)
    At the end of the number hold down the the <alt> key and enter 0179 on the numeric keypad. It will add a superscript 3 to the number and it will not affect the value in the cell.
    <OK>
    Note:
    <Alt> 0186 is Supercript 0
    <Alt> 0185 is Supercript 1
    <Alt> 0178 is Supercript 2

    The downside is that is the extent of them...
