    3D photos

    Convert Digital Photos to 3D for <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15>

Now here's a clever idea. PictureCloud is a free web service
that will convert a series of digital images taken by walking
around an object into a full 3D view. Kind of like panorama
stitching in three dimensions. It's free for private use,
commercial application costs around $1 per conversion.

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

    Re: 3D photos

Other than the fact that it's saved as a flash file, is there any advantage to using this service over just taking your 20-30 pictures and making your own animated gif?
