Weird new Key Comb. for Current Region... (Excel XP/2003)

Working in Excel yesterday, I had a cell selected in a list. I usually press CTRL+* or CTRL+SHIFT+* to select the current region. But yesterday I pressed CTRL+A because I wanted to select the entire sheet, and the Excel selected the current region for y list??? I tried this on another sheet and the same happened...the list got selected. When i moved my file to another PC, CTRL+A selected the entire sheet whether I was in the list or not!!

Any Ideas what happened here. This "current region occurence" occurred on 2 other PC's too when I started experimenting across more PC's. I discovered that when I use CTRL+* the current region is selected with the active cell moving to the first cell in the region. When I used CTRL+A, the activecell stayed the initial cell that was selected in the list when I used the Key Comb.

Any explanations??
Regards,
Rudi

Re: Weird new Key Comb. for Current Region... (Excel XP/2003)

In Excel 2002 (XP) and before, Ctrl+A always selects the entire sheet.
In Excel 2003, according to the Excel help:

Note If the worksheet contains data, pressing CTRL+A selects the
current region. Pressing CTRL+A a second time selects the entire
worksheet

So it's by design.
