    Thumbnails

    Dear All,

We are looking for a software package of little utility from the web that can produce images in a similar format to that attached. We usually have a compact flash card of 100+ photos which need to be printed off as evidence. Is there an easy way of doing it so that you select which images you want this to happen to and it prints it off?

    Any suggestions

I'm not too sure what you're asking, Luke. Have you looked at the free IrfanView - one of the most popular viewers worldwide to experiment and see if you can get what you want "printed"?

Have you tried XP's native Print Wizard, available by opening an image in Windows Printer & Fax Viewer ?? It offers several print layout options.

You never did comment about my suggestion that you take a look at IrfanView. Have you done that?

There are also a couple of recent threads that mention a software vendor called FastStone on whose page you will find a few utilities that might also be what you're looking for. Could you let us know a little more about what "look" you are trying to achieve?

Sorry, yes came across Irfran View a while back by complete accident, and tihnk it's a great little free program. We use it for batch conversion of out photos. I have played about and cannot get it to do what we want, so I try this new one being mentioned.
    Best Regards,

    Luke

Your timing couldn't be better. I just discovered this utility today. It's <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> and I believe it will do everything you are asking about and more.

You can read about it and download a copy here. The Contact Sheet Tool should output just what you want. HTH

I'm not sure what it is you're trying to do here, Luke. Are you trying to simply print a group of pictures or present them in an HTML page for others to view? If you don't find this program does what you want, perhaps you should tell us a bit more specifically what you're trying to achieve.

He's a Real Estate Broker in the UK, Al. I'm guessing that he wants to display properties he has for sale.

    Re: Thumbnails

Irfanview does do thumbnails. If I remember correctly the instll routine asks if you want to create a thumbnail shortcut.

However, if you didn't choose that option then simply create a new shortcut to the irfanview exe but add /thumbs to the command line, like this:
    "C:Program FilesIrfanViewi_view32.exe" /thumbs

    stuck
