Anyone ever heard of these type of files? What do I need to open them?

According to File Extension Details for .JDT, it is the extension for JetForm Capture Classic Filler. JetForm became or was taken over by Accelio, which was in turn taken over by Adobe. See JF Accelio redirect page for further info.

Sometimes it's useful to open reasonably sized files in WordPad and look for a header that identifies the program that created them. Doesn't always work, of course, but it often is a helpful step.
