    Re: Date entry (Word 2003)

    In the AutoText dialog (Insert > AutoText), is the top checkbox -- Show AutoComplete suggestions -- checked?

    Actually, my day and year don't work on Word 2003 (home), either. They do work on Word 2002 (office). I wonder whether they might have been affected by an Office update.

    If you search the newsgroups, you'll find lots of threads describing problems with the date autocomplete feature. It might be better not to rely on it. You could create a small macro in a module in Normal.dot:

    Sub InsDate()
    Selection.TypeText Format(Date, "MMMM d, yyyy")
    End Sub

    and assign it to a custom toolbar button and/or a custom keyboard shortcut.

    There are lots of complaints about the behavior of autocomplete for dates, that's why I suggested an alternative.
