    Excel Workbook lost! (Excel 2000)

I have an important excel document. Today when I tried to open it it flashes for a second then displays a blank grey screen. No spreadsheet lines or anything. Other excel documents on my computer are still working fine. Is there any way I can retrieve this information or find out why this has happened?

First check whether it is hidden. When you open it and see a blank grey screen, select Window | Unhide... If your workbook is listed, select it and click OK.

If this doesn't help, your workbook may be corrupt. See Corrupt Files on Pieterse's website.

Another problem might be that the file is in a window which is off-screen. Try Window, arrange, tiled (uncheck the box "Windows of active workbook").
