Macro Security Settings (Outlook 2003)

We have Outlook 2003 Macro Security set to Medium on a prototype system where we are testing some new applications. As Outllok is launched, the Enable/Disable macros warning appears. Each time any of the buttons on an add-in toolbar are used, the Enable/Disable macros warning appears again. It also appears EACH TIME a macro in the VBA Project is run from the toolbar. On our old system, this warning appears only on the first occasion that a macro in the macro project is run, and then not again for the session. Is there any reason why this should keep appearing?

    Thanks,
    Richard Barrett

Mine only prompts once, at startup, and that covers code in add-ins as well as VbaProject.otm.

I don't know how Microsoft "saves" the result of Enabling macros, but perhaps there is something in your environment that is blocking that flag, or whatever it is, from being saved, or being read after being saved.

(Edited by jscher2000 on 30-Aug-06 15:03. Severe typos fixed.)
Do you have the checkbox "Trust all installed add-ins and templates" checked? This is on the second tab of the Macro>Security... dialog. If not, test it that way, too, and see whether it makes a difference.

Try signing your macros with a digital signature - users will have to accept the signature once.

Re: Macro Security Settings (Outlook 2003)

The aberrant behavior here seems to be the reappearance of the Enable/Disable Macros message. The trusted sources situation has been handled, and we know that Medium security means that the Enable/Disable message should appear on the first use of a macro. The multiple Enable/Disable message seems to be atypical for Outlook.
