    Pasting a table (Office 97)

Is it possible to copy a table and then paste it into email? I can do it by copying the table to Excel and using the paste special command to copy it to email, but can't do it directly from Word. Need to do this for posting Town info to a web site through Virtual Town Hall software that amazingly works by pasting WORD docs through a virtual email program on their web site. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Libbie

Re: Pasting a table (Office 97)

    Hi BB,

I don't have access to Word 97 anymore, so don't know if the following is relevant, anyway:

Word 2000/Outlook 2000: If I create the e-mail in Rich Text or HTML format, then a table copied from Word will paste into the e-mail.
If I create the e-mail in Plain Text format, then the table will not paste in.

Not sure though, whether Word 97 was different in this respect...

Just tried this with Word97/Outlook98; in Word, under the table menu click "Select table", copy, switch the the email doco and past. Works a treat.

    Hope this helps.

Granville, thanks for the tip but it doesn't work in Netscape Messenger which is what I am using. Appreciate the info and will pass it on to others. Libbie
