full page (Word 2000)

When i copy a textt from another format say from Notepad, the text is not spread through the wholepage, but usually takes up only the first half of the page. For example,on my Word page is seen a ruler. The text srpeads itself to the division of 14, while the whole width of the ruler is 35.I want the text to spread itself to the full page, i.e. up to the division of 32.ow can i do that ?

Welcome to woody's Lounge!

The text copied from notepad probably contains a paragraph mark after each line. You can do one of the following:

1) Select Edit | Replace (or press Ctrl+H)
2) Enter
^p
in the Find what box.
3) Leave the Replace with box blank.
4) Click Find Next, then Replace repeatedly, or click Replace All if you're feeling adventurous.
a) You can always undo (Ctrl+Z) if the result isn't what you want.

Select Format | AutoFormat..
Click OK.

I don't understand why, but sometimes Notepad inserts a "soft" line break when "word wrap" is on. Try turning word wrap off in NotePad (Format>Word Wrap) before copying. Of course, if the document doesn't turn into one or two long lines, then probably word wrap is not the culprit.
