    User Accounts (SR2)

When I select 'Change the way users log on and off' in User Accounts I receive the message ' A recently installed program has disabled the Welcome screen and Fast User Switching. To restore these features, you must unistall the program. The following file name might help you identify the program that made the change: dwlgin2a2.dll'. What does this mean and how can i restore the select logon and logoff options? Thanks.

Check your "Add and Remove programs", it should be listed there.

    Farmer,
Are you sure you got that name right?
A search on my system and a Google didn't turn up anything.
I don't think AddRemove programs will show a DLL as a listing either.

    Check out

And there are lot more out there.
Google on "disabled the Welcome screen " and see if any thing fits.

Are you certain that you don't have any spy/malware on the machine? That sounds rather suspicious to me.

Apologies, but the filename was dwlgina2.dll. Still not sure what I need to do - am I looking to delete a line from the registry? Thanks.

    Yep.
    - Select Start | Run...
    - Type regedit and press Enter
    - Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWinlogon, and click on this key.
    - If there is a value named GinaDLL in the right hand pane, select it and press Delete. Confirm.
    - Close RegEdit.
