Monitor Cable?

Sorry if this not the right place to ask this questiosn but I have a monitor cable which has two dvi type connectors at one end that connects into the monitor, the other end is one connection with 45 pins in (three rows of 15). What is this connector and where can I obtain a graphics card to connect it to?

Tried to look on the Belkin website, but no joy.
Best Regards,

Luke

Luke,
I'm not sure that I've ever heard of this type of cable.
Did it come with the monitor or what?

Re: Monitor Cable?

Luke,

I am puzzled by the description of the cable as well. What type of connector is the 45 pin side ?

Can you post a picture of the cable and end of 45 pin connector ?

At first I was wondering if you were talking about a DVI and HDMI connector - but now I am not sure. A good source (at least for me) on cables is CablesToGo.Com.

Re: Monitor Cable?

You described video splitter cable, which is used to connect two monitors to dual-monitor video card.

Which type of connector do you have on your monitor? On your monitor you need only one connector; some monitors have different types (for instance, DVI and VGA) for different types of video cards or two similar connectors (for instance, two VGA connectors) to connect the monitor to two computers - in this case, on the front of the monitor there is "1-2" switch.

Usually splitter cable has one male DVI connector on one end (which is used to connect to dual-monitor video card) and two female DVI or VGA (45 pins) connectors on the other end to connect to monitor video cables. You did not describe which type of connectors (male or female) are on your cable, so it is difficult to tell the purpose of the cable.

For dual monitors video card, see

I think I am about to say something stupid but since that never stopped me in the past...

... two female DVI or VGA (45 pins) connectors on the other end to connect to monitor video cables.

This would be a DVI 29 Pin Connector (30 with ground pin ?) and DB15 VGA Connector at one end of the split Video cable ?

I am because Luke mentioned ONE 45 pin connector.

Re: Monitor Cable?

It doesn't make sense to me either.
I have a cable catalog ( somewhere ) so maybe I can see if anything fits that description?

In the meantime maybe some more details from the originator of the post will help clear up the confusion.

Overly large picture moved to zip file by HansV - please don't post pictures over 640x480 pixels in size

Hi Luke,

I am not sure this will help you but it may be of interest to others. I download this in February 2006 but do not recall where or how I found it.
