    marco that names ranges (Excel 2000)

    hello,

    I have wriiten a macro that gives cells a name.

    It seems that the code does not execute the name as a named ref is there a way to assign the name?

    heres a snip of how I assign the name to a cell.

    Range("a36").Activate
    actwbk.Sheets("Input").Names.Add Name:="linediscount", RefersToR1C1:="=Input!R36C1"
    Range("a36") = "FALSE"

    Your code works, but it will define a name that is local to the Input sheet - it will be unknown on other sheets. If you want a name that is available in all sheets, use

    actwbk.Names.Add Name:="linediscount", RefersToR1C1:="=Input!R36C1"
