    Login details (XP SP2)

On many occasions when entering, for example, login details on a site a little window appears listing previous attempts. Sometimes the list includes previous incorrect attempts. How can I delete these incorrect entries?

It may depend somewhat on what is producing the windows, but moving the cursor down to (and thus highlighting) the invalid entry and then pressing one of Del, Shift+Del or Backspace usually removes a bad entry for me...

List of your previous attempts is called MRU (Most Recently Used). There are many (even too many) of them in Windows XP.

You can download and try MRU-Blaster - free utility to clean MRU entries, cookies and Internet cache files.

This is an interesting little program. However, it does not allow for deleting incorrect entries which was my original need. John Gray's suggestion seems to be the answer.

This is an interesting little program. However, it is unclear from the list what entries are referred to, nor does it allow for deleting incorrect entries which was my original need. John Gray's suggestion seems to be the answer.

Thank you, John, for such a simple solution. Works a treat.
