Date mailmerge in Word (Office 2003)

    Quick question.

When a mailmerge to word with a date field is done in Access 2003 to Word 2003 the default date appearance is

    m/d/y

Is there a simple way to tell it to use a default of dd/mm/yyyy for example

I have the following 2 solutions I can use but I wondered if there was s impler one.

Method 1 (This is done in Word)

Use a Date field switch in the word document

Normally the field will arrive as say
    Andrew

Both methods are legitimate. The only way to do it from Access is to pass the value as a formatted string (your second method). I've always found it simpler to let Word handle that part of the process, since I could conceivably also want to use the value in *another* merge field as a date rather than a string.
