    Format bitmap

I have a bitmap I created while I was using Win ME. I used to be able to go in and change the lines and fill of the bitmap by clicking on and selecting the object. I can't remember if I did and "ungroup" some way or not. It's been a long time and I now am using WIN XP. Is there a way to do what I used to be able to do, or can I change the object to something I can edit? I'm not real savvy using graphics (obviously). I'm not sure I included enough info to get an answer; if not, hopefully I'll be able to answer any questions you have

Do you recall what program you used to create the image when you had Windows ME? The built-in Windows Paint program doesn't have any group/ungroup features (never has)... What is the file extension?

    Re: Format bitmap

The file extension is bmp. I scanned the image and saved it as a bitmap. Then I inserted it as a picture in a Word document. I was using either Word 6 or Office 97. It used to be that when I double-clicked on the image it would open into its own editing window and I think I could ungroup it from there.

As far as I know, you cannot ungroup a bitmap. You can ungroup a metafile (such as WordArt or Clipart) but not bitmaps.
