    Total in report (2003)

    Hello,

This is an easy question. I am trying to put a sum formula for a field which is formatted to be currency in the footer. The field is "Check amount". I create a textbox in the footer, go to properties, and select controlsource and do the following "=sum([check amount]) and I also do it with quotations, but I either get an error or just the check amount number in the report. Any help would be great.

I sometimes find it easier not to do it in the properties window. Why not double click the text box in the footer and just type in =sum([check amount]) without the inverted commas

If this dosn't work can you attach a sample of the database....private data removed

Since you didn't specify what kind of error you are getting, this is just speculation. If the field is named [check amount], make sure you also don't have a control with the same name.
