Has MS done it again? (IE 6 SP-2)

I have suddenly noticed some strange behavior in IE since the latest MS Updates that were pushed out this week. Suddenly I am unable to change "home page" in the browser from MSNs home page, nor can I look at the browser helpers to see if anything there is having an adverse impact on behavior.
I've run Spy Sweeper and Spybot S&D and deleted whatever it found, but the IE behavior remains the same/
The reason why I am concerned is that I also did the MS Update dance on a Virtual PC Windows 2000 box, and IE has started behaving the same.
    Thank heavens for Firefox!

I have the latest updates without experiencing these problems. Have you checked Tools > IE Tweaks in Spybot S&D? It contains some options that may cause the behavior you describe.

I think you may have been "HI Jacked" and NOT by Microsoft.
AS I do NOT have any problems on our 4 machine or any of my clients machines.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
