Logical Data type and Literals (2002)

Hi Helpers
If I make a mistake in entering a user defined logical field such as ;"male";"female", the data type sometimes turns into m/"ale";"fem"/"ale". I realise that the backslash / is a literal, but what is the logic of a literal in this application and why does it do it?

Just how did you define that logical field? Access won't put in literals on its own, so there is something in the edit mask or something in the definition of the field that is causing this. Without more information, we can't begin to guess what it is.
