    Validation list navigation (XP>)

    Hi,
I have a list of entries in a validation list drop down. In Excel, when I click the arrow of the drop down, I would like to type the start letter of the entry I want to find, but the list does not navigate to the entries starting with that character. Is there a setting to allow the list to do this? Its a hassle to find an entry manually in a list of 100 or more entries, even if the list is sorted.
    Tx
    Regards,
    Rudi

    Hi Rudi,
The short answer is no. You need to work around it and there are essentially two ways to do it, that I know of:
    1. Use a combobox control on the sheet and reposition it as necessary using the worksheet_selectionchange event; or
    2. Use code to alter the validation list - see example code here. Simple example attached.
