Always prompt for document properties (97 and 2003)

We had Word 97 at work and now we have Word 2003. On both I have always had the check box for Always prompt for document properties selected, but on both, it sometimes does prompt for properties when you save a new document (or when you Save As...) and it sometimes doesn't, apparently on a random basis. Is this just a "feature" of Word, or is there some way of making it do this more reliably?

"Prompt for document properties" only works the first time a new document is saved, not when you select File | Save As... in an existing document.
You might intercept the Save As command by writing a macro named FileSaveAs and including

    Dialogs(wdDialogFileSummaryInfo).Show

    before

    Dialogs(wdDialogFileSaveAs).Show

I think it used to prompt under Word 97 even on a Save As (or at elast it did only some of the time, but not every time, which was my problem). Maybe they have changed it under later versions so that it doesn't, by design. I'll give your macro a try.
