    When Printing? (Word 2003)

    Is there a way to have the name of the author, document name, and date and/or version of a document show up automatically when a document is printed or in the footer?

    You can include all of these by putting appropriate fields in your header or footer. If you want them in every document then you could put them in your template.

    You can insert fields either by typing Control-F9 and putting the field code in between the { } brackets that this creates, or from the Insert > Field... menu. Fields you might want to try include...
    <code>
    { AUTHOR }
    { FILENAME }
    { CREATEDATE }
    { SAVEDATE }
    { DOCPROPERTY RevisionNumber } - but see http://word.mvps.org/faqs/General/DisplayVersions.htm
