Nonbreaking space in report? (2002 SP-3)

Is there a way to feed a non-breaking space to a textbox in a report? For example, suppose I want to display a string surrounded by brackets, but with one or more spaces between the brackets and the string, and I want the opening bracket to stay with the first word if the first word is going to wrap to the next line.

I tried using Chr$(160), but with no luck.

Chr(160) works, but if the first word of the string doesn't fit on a line together with the opening bracket and space(s), you have a problem: the line has to break somewhere - if not at the space(s) then within the first word. See attached extremely simple demo.

But perhaps I misunderstood your question?

<img src=/S/blush.gif border=0 alt=blush width=15 height=15> Oops. I have 2 very similar functions, and the textbox was using one of them and I was inserting the Chr$(160)'s into the other one.

Thanks for replying. As you said, Chr$(160) effectively works as a non-breaking space.
