There's also an old game called "Russian Roulette" he may be interested in, to go with no AV.
Takes all kinds, I guess. I'll bet he would be the first to moan and groan, WHEN he picks up a nasty virus.

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
Today it is called golf!

Bob:

Yea I know, since I for one have had my issues with mongrels... I'm just a bit surprised I suppose the ZD would publicly take such a stance.

The author also states (last sentence) that "I do manually conduct occasional scans of the hard drive for viruses and spyware and I never find any."

I'm not quite sure how he does this considering he says that "I personally never use Antivirus or Anti-spyware software." A little contradiction there?

I assume that he means he doesn't have auto protection, which consumes lots of CPU and disk, but just does manual scans when he wants to.

Sounds risky to me, but I guess it takes all kinds. Just remind me never to open attachments that this guy sends.
