Re: Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the MS

In addition to the Office-related components for Visual Studio 2005, there were earlier versions for Office XP / Visual Studio .Net 2003 (Download details: Office XP Primary Interop Assemblies (PIAs)). I'm not sure VSTO works with Office 2000 at all.

    Searching... Searching...

This sounds like you have to do special configuration and maybe extra work to develop for Office 2000 in .Net: Office Developer Center: Microsoft .NET Development for Microsoft Office: Chapter 2 (Part 1 of 3)

Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the Microsoft Office System

I currently have Excel 2000, and I would love to incorperate some things that the above package can do.

I would like to build a user form in visual basics express because its free and have it talk to my excel 2000 workbook. Is this possible? or do I need the to upgrade to Excel 2003

one project that I would like to try is located at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/f1wckde0.aspx
This teaches how to make a form which can talk to an excel workbook, I am wonder though if Ican use ms 2000?

I am only using the express version and it seem that they are not compatable.

I have tried primary interprop assemblies to the express editions, but it seem I am either incorrectly doing this or it just is not possible.
you are right there is a bit of work to get the VB studio to work correctly
