    Format changes (word 2002 SP3)

I am having trouble with a word document that we (group effort) created so as to standardize. The problem I am having is that when I highlight a word in my calendar and change its format, say to BOLD, all the words become BOLD! The only way to correct this is to "Edit - Undo" once which removes the additional format changes and leaves the one I wanted alone.

I will post a copy of the file for your perusal. Any assistance or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Select Format | Styles and Formatting...
Click in the title (Mazonson ...)
Right click the Heading 1 style in the task pane and select Modify... from the popup menu.
Clear the check box 'Automatically update'.
    Click OK.
Click in one of the calendar cells.
Right click the Heading 2 style in the task pane and select Modify... from the popup menu.
Clear the check box 'Automatically update'.
    Click OK.
(If you start using other styles, you may need to repeat it for these styles)

    Thank you Hans,

It is good to have you back and I see that the vacation has done nothing to slow you down. Sorry for not responding sooner but I had a number of documents to perform your magic on.

I used your 'fix' and was able to get the documents to stop Auto Updating. The unfortunate part is that the fix caused some of the required formatting to be undone. No problem as I was able to restore it all manually.

Thanks again for all you help.

Re: Format changes (word 2002 SP3)

    Hi Again Hans,

I have a new wrinkle (more than I need really but that's not important right now). This fix corrected my problem with the Auto Formatting but now I find that Spell Check will not run. I get the following error when I try to invoke it:

Word can not find the spelling file MSSpell.dll or mssp232.dll for .

Any idea what this is all about?

Never mind, I figured it out. Somehow my MS Word got a little flumuxed (sp?) <img src=/S/confused3.gif border=0 alt=confused3 width=45 height=45> and forgot what language to work with when running Spell Check. I had to remind it that English is the preferred for my needs (rather anglo centric I know but it is the language that I function best in as long as I have had my morning coffee).

    Sorry if I wasted any of your time (or those of your clones, yes I am still backing the theory that you have been cloned <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20> <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20> <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20> <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20> <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20> <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20> <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20> <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20> and that there are several of you spread about the planet working your wonders in the Lounge.

God bless all of you (and all the other great folks here in the Lounge)!

I should have known that you would be right on it. Yes that is the correction that needed to be made.

    Thanks again.
