Intranet questionnaire

Hi all,

Has anyone ever done any intranet questionnaires e.g. asking users/staff what they want included on their intranet site? If yes can you please give me a sample.

many thanks

Re: Intranet questionnaire

That is a difficult one really as a lot of people whom use the Lounge are working in companies where information like this is the intellectual property of said company.

My company intranet has changed dramatically over the past 5 years after a large investment in Content management systems, sharepoint integration and departmental structure. Your question begs massive supplementaries and honestly I don't think there is a generic set of questions that you could use apart from the likes of:

1) Why do you use the intranet?
2) How often?
3) What were you looking for?
4) Did you find it?

plus many more

Every intranet is designed differently, has a different purpose and a different message to convey to its staff or audience and more importantly a massive difference in technologies.

So in all I think you need to talk to a business analyst or process developer which do not tend to hand around the techy areas.

Sorry for the frank answer but I don't think you will get an answer here

Re: Intranet questionnaire

I think our intranet was developed from a template and we posted it and people yawned about 90% of it. So it does make sense to do a little advance research if you plan to encourage people to use it. On the other hand, will they be able to intelligently answer questions without seeing a demo or being able to envision what it could do for them? Hmmm... this must be why market research folks get the big bucks.
