    Export Meeting Minder Minutes (2002)

    Hi,
When I export my minutes to word it creates a Word file named, PPT475.rtf. Where does it get that name from and why does it make it an rtf instead of a Word doc?
    Thanks,
    Deb

Why .rtf? Probably because the programmers saw it as a convenient intermediate file format. It is a well-defined plain text file that can be created from scratch without opening Word, yet it stores formatting information that can be read by Word. The .doc format is so complicated that according to rumor even the Word developers don't understand it fully, so that you must use Word to create it. Access also uses .rtf for its "export to Word" feature.

Why "PPT475.rtf"? Probably just a random name consisting of PPT (for PowerPoint) followed by a sequence number.
