Download manager and American Express (Firefox 1.5.0.1)

Anybody with an American Express card able to download the PDF for their monthly statement using a download manager.
Using FlashGet, the error issomthing like "invalid URL".
Using Free download Manafger, FDM tries to download an index.html file but issues messages that it cannpt connect to server.

I suspect that this is caused by some non-standard Javascript at the Amex web site.

Can anybody else try to download the PDF of their statement and lry use know whether they see the same behavior?

The link submits a form using method="post" and parameters set in the script. The URL in the link is not "complete" without executing the script.

Added: By the way, the current security patched version of Firefox is 1.5.0.7.

I guess that foils all download managers.

    Doubt that Amex will change.

    I use 1.5.0.1 because I'm waiting for 2.0.

You get to choose your own risks, but Isn't that a bit like using Windows XP without any service packs because you're waiting for Vista?

Firefox's built-in update feature (Help>Check for Updates...) is seamless and easy. The only serious downside is that some out-of-date extensions might be disabled.

    No.

I will not allow ANY software to download/install updates automatically.

    'Nuf said!
    But, it's more than that.
It makes no sense to not be in full control of WHEN updates are made to an app/system.

I urge all other Firefox users to ignore Howard and keep their browser patched!
