Zeros don't show in date (2003)

This is probably easy but I can't figure it out. I have dates in my table defined as short date with an input mask 99/99/0000;0;_. On reports and forms, the 0 doesn't show. If I put in 09/02/2006 it shows as 9 /2 /2006. It removes the zeros and puts the single digit in the first place, then a space and then the slash. It just doesn't look right. I would like it to be 9/2/2006 or 09/02/2006 and not what it is showing now. Am I missing some default setting.

Try setting the Format property of the text box bound to the date field to mm/dd/yyyy. (It *is* a date/time field, isn't it, not a text field?)

I changed the input mask 99/99/0000;0;_. to 00/00/0000;0;_. I used an input mask in another database and It wasn't omitting zeros. I used the same input mask (I thought) with this database. I thought my Access at home had the same input masks as my Access at work.

Yes - just a case of taking Access for granted. Thanks for listening.......
