Can anyone tell me why whenever my collegaue enters a new contact, saves it, closes outlook and then reopens outlook, the contact has disappeared? Thanks

Hopefully there's nothing wrong and they just have a filter applied. If so, you'll see the phrase "Filter Applied" on the right hand side of the grey title bar that says "Contacts". Otherwise, I've seen this when the Outlook address book is corrupted. Removing it from services and adding it back fixed that.

either views or it's marked private (if accessing from another profile)

also - if there are two message stores, are you loking in the right one? contacts get saved to the default folder unless you are opened in the folder when you begin the contact.
