Compare for changes between 2 docs (Word 2003)

    Hi all,

I have an original doc, and a latest saved copy of the original doc. I would like to know if there is any way to highlight the minor differences (changed or added text) between to two in red. The documents did not have tracking changes active, and I made some small editting changes to the copy some while back by adding or changing info (not deleting). I need these changes highlighted in red so I do not miss any. Is there some functionality that can compare the two and highlight the differences to inserted text.

    Tx
    Regards,
    Rudi

    Open one document.
Select Tools | Compare and Merge Documents...
    Select the other document.
Click Merge to open the other document and mark the differences there.
Or click the small dropdown arrow to the right of the Merge button and select 'Merge Into current document' to mark the differences in the current document.
Or click the small dropdown arrow to the right of the Merge button and select 'Merge Into new document' to mark the differences in a new document (a copy of the current document, with differences marked).

I gave it a try and it worked great! And I thought that this only worked if the track changes option was active!!

Tx Hans (I am totally enlightened now!)
