Mail Merge Macro HELP (Word 97)

I'd like to create a macro that will run a mail merge where the data source changes everyday and the user must select the file to use during the Opendatasource portion of the macro.

I've done this successfully ages ago... but can't for the life of me remember how.

Yes of course... but I need to kick off a macro that only allows the user to pick the file to use as a data source... then it completes the merge straight to a new document. Very primative user here... going to have the macro kick off on opening the merge document, goes to the opendatasource automatically to the correct network directory allowing him only to pick the file to use for the merge. It's a daily file and all he needs to do is pick the file named with today's date, click open and the macro will complete the merge to a new document.

Can't get the macro to NOT tie to a specific file. I've done this before... I believe with a query in place of the file name... but can't remember the correct syntax.

Yeah, that Helper tool is fine the first time you investigate
mail merge. After that it just gets in the way.

Well, you can alway use

dialogs(wdDialogMailMergeOpenDataSource).Show

to open then process the data source. Does that help?
