Outlook Forms

I'm just starting to create customized Outlook forms. I can create a form no problem. The form I created is called "VacationRequest". The public folder I also called "Vacation Request". The form is based on a mail message and the folder content is set for mail. My problem is when I try to force the new folder to default to the new form it tells me "you cannot create an item of this type in this folder". I must be creating the folder wrong but I can't figure it out.

if you select the folder and choose actions, is your form listed?

Yes it is. When I click "Action" my form is listed at the bottom. I can use the form that way, but if I hit "New" I get a mail message and not the custom form.

ok - so we know it's residing in the folder. when you slect the folder, do you see new post or new mail? it should be new post, since it's a public folder. ohhh.. I'll bet that is your problem. You worked with a message form instead of using a post form.

You are correct but I don't want to post it. I want it to be sent as an email. It says "New Mail" and when I click that, I want it to give me the vacationrequest form.
