Multiple IF AND Conditions (Excel 2003)

Hi Excel Experts,

I have attached an excel sheet, wherein there are two sets of Data

Data 1 - A12 - B35 Which has the Grades & Notional PB

Data 2- A1 - F6 the main data wherein i need a formula in Col F with the following conditions.

If Grade in D2 is L5 & Above (i.e. L5, L6, L7, L5BA, L6BA,L7BA) AND Notional PB in E2 is > 50000 then 2/3 of E2
AND if >100000 in any Grade then 2/3 of E2.

Hope this clarifies.

Looking forward to a formula for the same.

Regards
Baiju

Hi,
Try this:
=IF(OR(E2>100000,AND(D2>="L5",E2>50000)),E2*2/3,E2)

Re: Multiple IF AND Conditions (Excel 2003)

You write

E2 is > 50000 then 2/3 of E2 AND if >100000 in any Grade then 2/3 of E2

Don't you mean OR instead of AND?
Does this formula do what you want?

=IF(OR(AND(D2>="L5",E2>50000),E2>100000),2/3*E2,E2)

Re: Multiple IF AND Conditions (Excel 2003)

Hi Baiju,
Because they are text values Excel simply compares the characters one at a time from the left. The first character is always L, so the test really occurs on the next character. Anything greater than or equal to "5" counts, anything less than "5" doesn't. That is pretty much the end of the comparison.
