Macros & shortcuts in template (Word 2000)

A while ago I created a template containing a few macros with keyboard shortcuts. If a user saves the template in their Word startup folder, the keyboard shortcuts run the macros. Now I need to modify some of the macros and shortcuts and add some new ones. I can edit the macros OK, but I can't reassign or modify the keyboard shortcuts. How should this be done?

    Select Tools | Customize...
    Click Keyboard...
Make sure that the template is selected in the "Save changes in" dropdown.
